Sample deployment job/workflow

Gurinder.Randhawa

Does any have any deployment job/workflow tips or tricks? We're interested specifically in deployment notifications and assigning appropriate remote agents to a job (dev, qa, uat, prod) based on
target environment.

Environment and WF props in a Shell builder.

Yanko, Curtis
I am always confused by which syntax is needed when, how do I reference a prop in a Shell builder. We put different version in different builder and i want to put that in a property for the WF and perhaps reference UserID and PW info from the Projects /Environment properties.

Re: Environment and WF props in a Shell builder.

Eric Minick
In the shell builder, you can reference them using the ${property:...}
syntax.

So:

echo My environment property ${property:my property}

RE: Setting up pseudo admin users

Garg, Mudit

Hi,

We are unable to execute any workflow defined by the admin user.

I have setup a separate user account and given it all the roles which
have been defined (even admin).

But even this user could not execute or edit the workflows.

Re: Setting up pseudo admin users

Varban
Mudit,

the admin user is a super user and no other user can mimic it's access
no matter what group that user is in.
What you need to do is login as the admin user and give permissions to
other groups for the folder, project, workflow, environment AND
environment group that this workflow uses so that users in those groups
can actually run the workflow.

Regards,
Varban

Re: Quality Center

emerson cargnin
I did used QTP for a while. Couldn't proceed with it because of the
licensing problems, it doesn't allow us to run the tests in windows
virtual machines, and the QTP agent doesn't work properly on common
machines of our company as they have screen saver locking activated.

I'm looking foward in integrating it with quality center though.

regards
Emerson
